Oct. 31–Stung by a projected 25 percent one-year increase in health insurance costs for employees and county retirees, the Milwaukee County Board on Thursday approved a full audit of the reasons behind the increase.
Among the issues is the extent to which county employees’ heavy use of Aurora Health Care is driving the steep jump — from at least $80.6 million this year to an expected $100.7 million in 2004.
